Monday Night Football Recap with NFC WEST & AFC EAST STANDINGS | Pro Football Opinion
The Miami Dolphins snapped a three game losing streak on Monday Night Football, halting the momentum of the Los Angeles Rams’ three game winning streak. The Dolphins, losers of six of their last seven, are hoping to salvage their season after lackluster performances, many of which in the absence of their star Quarterback Tua Tagovaiola for four games with a concussion. Without Tua in the lineup, the Dolphins offense underperformed and was arguably among the worst in the league.
The Miami defense had a strong outing swatting down several passes at the line of scrimmage forcing an Interception and sacking the quarterback four times.
Tyreke Hill caught his first touchdown pass since week one but only tallied 3 catches for 16 yards. Jaylen Waddle had three explosive plays adding 3 receptions and 57 yards of his own.
On the other side of the ball, Matthew Stafford threw for 293 yards but no touchdowns and an interception, extending his streak of consecutive games with an interception thrown to six. Troy Aikman said on the broadcast he didn’t feel like Stafford, now 36 and in his sixteenth NFL season, has not fallen off at all.
The Rams fail to capitalize on the opportunity to ascend above .500 and stay at the top of the rankings in the NFC West.
The Rams certainly aren’t out of it yet, but have a better outlook going forward than Miami who still trail the Buffalo Bills by 5 wins.
