Pro Football Opinions - NFL Week 7 Commentary

Thanks for reading!

  • Jags problem is their lack of fire or passion. End of the 1st, Pat’s Hunter Henry gains a first down and neither of three Jags touch him down; he gets up and gains 2-3 more yards. Lacking the fire. How could the three of them not tag the ball carrier down? Would the 49ers do that? Or the Ravens, Lions or Steelers? I think not.

  • Three of the four rookie QBs have 4 wins. Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Bo Nix. (Drake Maye 0-1 entering week 7.)

  • Bigsby for Jacksonville is becoming a star. Credit to Chris Simms, Texas Alum for stating that bandwagon.

  • RUNNING BACKS ARE BACK.

  • The Packers are starting to really click on offense, especially when pushing the ball down the field. Love to Watson in the 2nd quarter for 30 yards, the previous TD from 14 yards out. They look Phenomenal when they can pass beyond 10 yards.

  • Eagles are the kings of figuring shit out. Last season, this season, doesn't matter, they grind out wins. That is their culture under Siriani.

  • Lions aren’t rattled.

  • Vikings also won’t be rattled.

  • How many coaching jobs will be open this season? Giants? Jags? Over/Under 6.5?

  • Daniel Jones benched, does the offense reflect his skill set though?

  • Packers are poised. Each week it seems like they improve on something and are building blocks for a deep run.

  • Is Deandre Hopkins available? Chiefs should want to know, maybe a few others would like to know.

  • Coolest jerseys this week: Packers, Texans, Falcons,

  • Saquon Barkley furthers his mvp case & the case to fire Joe Schoen from NY for letting him go, 17 carries for 176 & a TD, maybe the line of the week.

  • The Bengals beat the Browns but barely, not very impressive. They looked like they might be done, although they have a light schedule the next 5 or 6 weeks. They could very well be 6-4 here pretty soon.

  • Lots of QB changes, injury or otherwise.

  • Raiders lose Aiden O'connell to injury.

  • The Raiders may look like a rebuild but still have some talent. Brock Bowers, Maxx Crosby of course, they add a QB and they're not too far off from being alright.

  • Bills roll on and continue to quietly be fairly dominant

  • My Falcons lost to the Seahawks. Offense wasn’t very good.

  • Seattle proves again they are formidable and will definitely contend to win a playoff game this year.

  • Deshaun Watson goes down, very unfortunate, but can the team rally behind another QB? Too late probably to become a formidable team this season.

  • Jordan Love just looks like an all pro, seasoned vet.

  • Another concussion… this time  for #7 of the Packers.

  • Colts win another one but do they scare anyone? I don’t think so.

  • Dolphins continue to be useless without Tua. Expected back next week I think.

  • Brady interviewed Mahomes for FOX, I thought that wasn’t allowed?

  • 49ers haven’t found their offensive groove, is CMC’s absence strictly to blame?

  • Cool, calm, collected. Chiefs.

  • Injuries plague the 49ers, can they ever overtake the Chiefs?

  • Debo out sick & BA goes out with a knee injury

  • Purdy has been making a few mistakes lately. Perhaps he's trying to do too much. Early in the preseason he made some comments about wanting to really dominate teams this season. Not going well as the Niners drop to 3-4

  • Big showdown next week between 49ERS & Cowboys on Sunday Night.

  • Commanders roll even without Jayden Daniels, great situation in Washington right now.

  • Jets knock over 2 photographers on their second drive, is it time to move those guys back off the sideline.

  • The HB toss/ sweep is less and less effective it seems like

  • Russel Wilson is very hyped before the game nerves may be running. First game since Christmas 2023. Ten months ago.

  • The Jets offense looks better immediately with Devante Adams.

  • Garrett Wilson drops a lot of balls.

  • Rodgers should have been in training camp, might have helped these small nuances.

  • Why didn't the Jets make these moves prior to filing Saleh?

  • Perhaps they wanted him gone all along, and his culture just wasn't meshing well with Aaron and probably also not well with the organization. Just my own speculation.

  • Russell Wilson doesn't look bad. He looks safe and smart, surely he’s eager and hungry. Maybe why Tomlin wanted to go to him at this stage. He has more to gain than just playing with a chip on his shoulder.

  • Russell definitely brings the big play ability to the offense. He can really play the deep ball very well.

  • Be prepared for an overreaction Monday regarding Russell Wilson’s good game.

  • His situation though has significant similarities to that of his time in Seattle in his heyday. A strong defense, solid run game, and play making ability downfield may be even better now than with Seattle with Pickens.

  • Pittsburgh has 6 divisional games in the last 8 of their season. The Giants are up next could easily be 6-2.

  • Russ looked very confident in his post game interview.
