Cowboys vs Eagles Commentary: Ejections, Weather Delays and A Chippy Start to The NFL Season.
This one had everything—explosive offense, sideline tension, and a broadcast that couldn’t stop talking about someone who wasn’t even playing.
The game turned before it even started. Jaylen Carter was ejected for making a critical mistake when he spit on Dak Prescott during an injury break after the opening kickoff. The way the broadcast talked about Micah Parsons you would think he was plying in the game. I think his name was spoken more than anyone that actually was playing. However, his absence was noticed. No QB pressure from Dallas- Jalen Hurts had his way most of the night. He scrambled, he rushed, passed very well and scored two rushing touchdowns. He’s definitely eyeing up double digit rushing touchdowns again this year- fourteen? Maybe fifteen.
The game was chippy from the jump. Head collisions, sideline jawing, etc. Dallas came in looking sharp. The offense sliced through Philly’s front like a hot knife through butter, and Dak Prescott was clearly fired up. You could see Brian Schottenheimer’s fingerprints all over the playcalling—balanced, aggressive, and confident. They executed the end-of-half sequence perfectly, even if I was shouting at the screen while it was happening. Mike McCarthy would have screwed it up.
Credit to the NBC crew for navigating the weather delay smoothly—each on-air talent got their moment, and the transitions felt seamless. That said, the production wasn’t flawless: the cameras experienced repeated flashing glitches throughout the game, and one particularly vocal fan could be heard shouting into the lens multiple times, especially during the second half.
